How to play Golf Solitaire

Take a moment with Golf Solitaire before moving to another game. Remove all 35 tableau cards. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move. Compare the starting position with the example in the Guide. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions.

Your goal

Remove all 35 tableau cards. The feedback beside the game helps you follow the round. Start with a deliberate move.

Step by step

1. Take an exposed bottom card one rank above or below the waste top, allowing ace–king wrapping.
2. Click an exposed card or eligible pair to remove it.
3. Draw when useful.
4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Controls

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. Contact us with the game and device if a control does not respond.

Waste queen accepts jack or king. Compare this with the rule that governs the move. Read the matching step again.

Watch out for this

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. After a move, check what changed. Decide which rule explains the new state before acting again.
